Acceptance of a Serious Diagnosis

By Mike Jenkins - of The Hamblin Vision

Living with grief and loss isn’t always about surviving the death of a loved one. Sometimes, we have to learn to accept and live with the loss of the life we thought we’d live.

Scott shares some moving and very practical advice in this video about how he has been living with a dignosis of young onset Parkinson’s disease and how has had to move through the 5 Stages of Grief, all a different times.

Grief and loss is different for everyone and mourning the loss of a future you’d been working towards is a very particular kind of loss to live with.

Scott’s story is a wonderful real-world example of how the spiritual principles of acceptance and surrender can help to navigate the severe challenges of a disease like Parkinson’s.

Thank you Scott for sharing what has worked for you and we hope that many others affected by a serious health diagnosis can find a new perspective and hope from your experience.

If you or someone you know has been diganised with Young Onset Parkinson’s, you may find Scott’s YouTube channel a helpful resource.
